Press Release Body:
NEW YORK, November 22, 2007- INSPIRE THE PLANET, an important and beautiful anthology of poetry from the members of the Muses and Confidantes community online at www.igotmuse.com, has been published on Thanksgiving Day to bring its compelling message about the power of creativity in making a difference to people all over the world.
The book, published by Lulu.com and available worldwide at www.stores.lulu.com/markfogarty (and soon through Amazon.com, Borders and BarnesandNoble.com), represents "a remarkable flowering of creativity by the Muses and Confidantes community," according to igotmuse founder Remy Nation. "Poets from all over the world have collaborated to focus a bright light on issues ranging from the personal to the spiritual, and from the political to the transcendent."
In just one month, poets from America, England, Spain, Nicaragua, the Sudan and Australia assembled a book's worth of remarkable narrative and lyric poems through the poetry group and the blogs at igotmuse.com, a creative and social networking website whose members include inspiring and inspired people from 19 countries on all six continents.
The eleven poets gathered in the book have contributed both free verse and traditional styles such as the sestina and the sonnet, and experimental works such as illustrated poetry. "From the deeply spiritual work of England's Victoria Field, to the 'poetry of witness' of the Sudanese-American poet Kola Boof, to the storytelling style of England's Francoise Bennett, there is remarkable and inspiring work in INSPIRE THE PLANET," said Nation. " In addition to the wide range of geopolitical and geopersonal concerns gathered in INSPIRE THE PLANET," said Nation, the book contains a wide variety of poetic energies. "I am so thrilled to have been able to feature the work of mature poets at the top of their games, like Geraldine Green and Paul House of England (House now lives in Spain), and George Wallace and Lori Williams of the United States. In addition, the book features the audacious and energetic work of the newer generation of poets, including the Nicaraguan-American Eustacia Vye, American Renaissance woman Laura Fay Lewis, and the young Australian poet Trinity. " As a victim of childhood involuntary servitude myself, I'm really proud to reprint Kola Boof's poems on the tragic situation in her native country, especially 'There Is Slavery in Sudan,' " Nation said. "And Mark Fogarty's "A Sash for Addie Mae Collins" throws some light on the slow progress of civil rights in America."Press release distribution by PressReleasePoint(http://www.pressreleasepoint.com/)
The website founder added, "I'm also delighted by some of the more personal work in the book, like Trinity's remarkable love poetry and Eustacia Vye's lovely illustrated poems, and the closely observed poems of Laura Fay Lewis and Paul House. And I'm delighted by the masterly imagistic work of Geraldine Green and George Wallace." The book, edited by Muses and Confidantes Creative Director Mark Fogarty, is intended to be the first in an annual series open to any poet who publishes or blogs poems at www.igotmuse.com.
